Folding Mechanism And Operation Methods For Electric Bicycles

As urban traffic congestion worsens, electric bicycles have gained widespread adoption as an eco-friendly and convenient mode of transportation. To meet user demands for portability, electric bicycles are typically designed with foldable frames for easy carrying and storage. The folding mechanism serves as a critical component, significantly impacting both folding performance and operational safety. Based on this, this paper designs a foldable electric bicycle, proposes improvement solutions for existing issues in the folding mechanism, and evaluates the performance of the modified mechanism to further optimize its design.

 

Based on the current design landscape of folding electric bicycles addressing modern urban spatial constraints and transportation challenges, this paper briefly reviews the emergence and evolution of folding bicycles. It focuses on analyzing existing folding electric bicycle designs, covering frame material selection, frame styling, folding mechanisms, battery placement, and key design challenges. By integrating customer needs and market strategies, it proposes future design trends and concepts for this product.
